About Planting Organics

My story. My passion. The path that led me here.

From a mother searching for answers for her daughter, to a practitioner helping others explore their own path to wellbeing.

This is the story of how Planting Organics grew from a garden into an energy and wellbeing practice.

My journey

My story started with my daughter — and one question.

Why did this start in the first place?

When my daughter Lexia was four years old, she suddenly started having seizures.

There had been no seizures before. They seemed to come out of nowhere, beginning shortly after the routine four-year-old immunisations children usually receive before starting primary school.

And my natural response was to question.

I think that question says a lot about how I approach things — both personally and in the work I do today.

When something changes, I want to understand what changed around it. What was happening beforehand? What else was happening at the same time? What might be influencing the bigger picture? Is there something we are overlooking?

I do not automatically assume I know the answer. But I do ask the questions.

Learning

I started trying to understand what was happening in her brain.

What can I do in her everyday life to support her?

Lexia was eventually diagnosed with Rolandic epilepsy, a form of childhood epilepsy.

I knew very little about epilepsy at the time, so I did what has since become very familiar to me. I started learning.

One of the concepts that helped me understand seizures was the idea of a seizure threshold. In simple terms, the brain is an incredibly active electrical system. A seizure occurs when there is a sudden burst of abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Different things can influence how susceptible someone is to having a seizure, and I became fascinated by what might help support a steadier environment for her brain.

That changed the question from simply, “How do we stop a seizure?” to a much bigger everyday question — and that question opened an enormous door.

The first roots

Food was one of the first places I started.

And Planting Organics was born.

I began researching nutrition and looking more closely at what we were eating. I became interested in creating meals that were nourishing and steady rather than constantly giving her body more stimulation.

Then I started asking where our food came from. How was it grown? What was used on it? What were we bringing into our home? Could I grow some of it myself?

One question led to another, and before long, our garden became part of the journey. We started growing our own food and learning to do things a little differently.

At that time, the name was very literal. I was planting organically. But I had no idea those first questions would eventually lead me much further than the vegetable garden.

Always learning

Every challenge gave me another opportunity to learn.

One question kept opening another door.

That is really how my journey has unfolded. I did not set out with a plan to collect a list of modalities. Something would happen in life that I wanted to understand. I would question it, research it and study.

Food led me into nutrition.

Growing led me into herbs.

Herbs and natural health led me into homeopathy.

Eventually, my curiosity took me beyond the physical body into the relationship between our experiences, emotions, stress, energetic patterns and wellbeing.

Discovering bioenergetics

I wanted to connect the dots.

What keeps appearing — and where do we start?

I came across NES Health, now known as Energy4Life, and became fascinated by the idea of looking at wellbeing from another perspective.

Instead of looking at one isolated area, bioenergetic scanning gave me a framework for exploring patterns across many different areas. That suited the way my mind already worked.

What seems to relate to something else? What has been happening in this person’s life? What are they feeling? What is their body showing us within the Energy4Life system?

I trained as a bioenergetics practitioner and Energy4Life became an important part of my work. But once again, it was not the end of my learning. It opened another door.

The emotional piece

Another piece of the picture.

Where does this fit, and when could it be useful?

The more I worked with people, the more interested I became in the emotional side of wellbeing.

Sometimes there was a particular experience someone could not seem to move beyond. Sometimes the same emotional themes appeared again and again. Sometimes someone did not have a long story at all. They simply felt stuck.

That curiosity led me to Emotion Code, a structured tool for exploring the emotional layer using muscle testing and concepts within the Emotion Code system, including trapped emotional energies and Heart-Wall work.

It did not replace everything I had already learned. It became another piece of the picture. I do not abandon one thing every time I learn something new. I ask how I can bring what I have learned together in a way that actually helps the person sitting in front of me.

Planting Organics today

The garden grew into a wellbeing practice.

You bring the story. I bring the tools I have gathered along the way.

Today, Planting Organics brings together many of the things I have learned along the way. I offer Energy4Life/NES bioenergetic scanning, miHealth Therapy, Emotion Code and personalised herbal support, online where appropriate and from my practice in Dora Creek, Lake Macquarie.

I am also continuing my learning in Body Code, which will eventually give me another tool to bring into my emotional wellbeing work.

And the herbs? They are still here. I still have my herbal dispensary. I still formulate and blend teas. I still love plants. I still believe there is something special about making a cup of herbal tea part of your day.

You should not need to understand all of my modalities before you contact me. You can simply start by telling me: “This is what has been happening.” Then we look at it together.

Still rooted here

Why I kept the name Planting Organics.

Planting Organics has grown. Its roots are exactly where they started.

As the business moved further into energy and wellbeing, I could have changed the name. But I did not want to.

Planting Organics still describes where all of this came from. It reminds me of the garden, the herbs, the questions that started everything, and the idea that growth happens gradually.

One experience leads to another. One question leads to another. One piece of knowledge gives you the ability to understand something you could not understand before.

That has been my own journey. Now I get to use what I have learned along the way to help other people explore theirs.

The tools I use

A blend of knowledge, intuition and structured modalities.

I do not believe every person needs every modality. We look at what is happening and choose a sensible place to begin.

My training & qualifications

Qualifications are part of the story. Connection is what makes them useful.

My learning has happened over many years and across different areas of natural and complementary wellbeing. Every modality gives me a different way of asking questions and looking at what is happening.

I use what is appropriate and stay within the scope of my work. Planting Organics provides complementary wellbeing services, not medical diagnosis or treatment. If something needs medical investigation or care outside that scope, that is where it belongs.

If something does not feel right, that is enough of a place to start.

You do not need to have it all figured out.

You do not need a perfectly worded explanation, know which service to book or understand bioenergetics before you contact me.

Tell me what has been happening. We will work out where to start.
