My journey
My story started with my daughter — and one question.
Why did this start in the first place?
When my daughter Lexia was four years old, she suddenly started having seizures.
There had been no seizures before. They seemed to come out of nowhere, beginning shortly after the routine four-year-old immunisations children usually receive before starting primary school.
And my natural response was to question.
I think that question says a lot about how I approach things — both personally and in the work I do today.
When something changes, I want to understand what changed around it. What was happening beforehand? What else was happening at the same time? What might be influencing the bigger picture? Is there something we are overlooking?
I do not automatically assume I know the answer. But I do ask the questions.
