Grow Sweet Marjoram from heirloom seed in your Australian home garden. These open-pollinated, untreated seeds are supplied by Planting Organics, with practical sowing and growing information below.

Sweet Marjoram is a fragrant Mediterranean herb, sweeter and more delicate than oregano. Grown from open-pollinated, organic heirloom seed, it’s valued for both culinary and medicinal uses. A versatile kitchen favourite for roasts, salads, stews, and soups, it also produces soft pink-white flowers that attract bees and other beneficial insects.

This compact plant grows up to 50 cm and thrives in containers (especially in wetter climates). It can even be harvested young as a microgreen. A beautiful and productive ground cover, Sweet Marjoram is a must-have for every herb garden.

              Storing Your Seeds

To help maintain the vitality and germination potential of your seeds, store them in a cool, dry place away from heat, moisture and direct sunlight.

A cupboard in a room with a stable temperature is ideal. For extra protection, keep your seeds in an airtight container or glass jar with a small amount of dry rice to help absorb excess moisture.
